The journey to becoming an FRM certified professional can seem daunting at first, but with a clear understanding of the process, it can be simplified.
First and foremost, you must register yourself for the FRM exam and then study diligently to pass both parts of the exam.
After that you have to submit your CV of your professional experience for verification.
In my case, it took me 1.5 years to finish the FRM because I failed to pass Part 1 on my first try. So if you pass it on your first try, it’s possible that you’ll be able to pass both parts in 6 months if you give both of them together in one attempt.
So, stay focused, stay determined, and trust the process.

You will have the option to sign up for both the Part 1 and Part 2 exams either individually or simultaneously in GARP. I simply signed up for the first part of the exam. After passing the Part 1 test, pass the FRM Part 2 exam.
After passing the FRM Part 1 exams, you must work in a certain industry because the FRM requires two years of professional experience.
Let us now consider the time span. Since I was working and studying at the same time, it took me a year to finish Part 2. I started working for an insurance company shortly after passing the Part 1 exam, and I spent two years there.
In total, it took me 2.5 years to finish it. This completely varies from person to person. I finished it in 2.5 years, but you might need longer or you might be able to finish in my time frame.
Thank You!
