Therefore, I would advise you to give FRM Part 1 and 2 Separately.

Depending on your academic and professional experience, this should take 300 –400 hours for each level. Therefore, between 600 and 800 hours for FRM Parts 1 and 2. And revision takes another 100 hours for every Part.
So for both levels, roughly 700-900 hours. With 4-5 hours of study per day up until the exam day, it is therefore definitely possible to prepare for both levels in 6-7 months.

This option is particularly suitable for students who are able to devote their full attention and time to studying for the exam. However, if you are unable to study consistently or put in significant effort during this time period, then it may not be the best option for you. Many students choose to take the two parts of the exam at the same time. This is because companies may give extra preference to students who complete both parts of the exam at the same time.
Good luck for your exams!

Since I graduated from a B-School with a finance MBA, I already had some expertise in risk and statistics. That was very helpful. I took numerous Mock Exams to gain a feel for the test. It’s challenging to maintain concentration throughout a 4-hour exam. I did a really good job of juggling my work and studies. I dedicated at least three hours every day to study time.
Hope this was helpful. Best wishes for your planning!

For each FRM Part, I always advise a minimum of 350 hours to be certain of passing the tests. And If you can’t clear Part 1, but clear Part 2, the whole effort will go waste.

You can finish it in a year if you prepare for FRM Part 1 in the first six months, clear it once, and then show up for FRM Part 2 in the following six months. Later, in the following five years, you would need to put in 2 years of work experience to get the designation of Financial Risk Manager from GARP.

However, if you don’t have any experience in the risk field, then it may be wise to write level one first and then level two at a later stage. Those who have a background in statistics and finance can also give a try by attempting both the papers once.
