Saying that a CAT coaching is the best CAT coaching is definitely a subjective thing because it totally depends upon your personal experience and how much and how well you score which again depends upon the level of difficulty of exam, the conditions on D-Day etc.
For me it was Alchemist and there are a lot of reasons why I love that coaching and think that it is the best coaching in India. Their faculties are so good and so helpful and they are always up and eager to solve your doubts and questions. Along with that the batch size is small so that there can be adequate attention given to each student which really helps introverts like me.
Also there is a modular approach because of which I can study as per my own schedule and not let it get too hectic.
Overall they are really good with excellent study material and questions and I hope that if you decide to go for it you have as good an experience as mine.

So I started looking for CAT coaching back in 2019, I came across quite a few coaching institutes which were amongst the TOP institutes. I took demo classes for a quite some and here are some institutes which I feel have been hyped but are of no use:-
People might disagree with me, but trust me, these institutes have a good hype and they have created a brand but when it comes to giving personalized attention I don’t feel they fit. Instead, one can go for an institute where the batch size is small and the student is given utmost attention. These exams require a great deal of attention and one needs to be very careful about how they are studying. I took my coaching from a coaching institute that was near my house, however, it is not as popular as the above mentioned ones but the teachers there really helped me through this journey.

Don’t get me wrong, you can definitely go for one and your journey will be made a lot easier but if you don’t prepare by yourself and if you don’t do self preparation you will go nowhere and even the best coaching cannot help you.
You should focus on self preparation because there is so much free stuff available on almost every social media platform, especially YouTube. There is so much video content for free and you can absolutely learn from all of that without spending a single penny. There are also revision classes on YouTube for free that you can watch towards the end of the preparation phase. So make sure you prepare by yourself consistently and ace the exam all on your own.

Gaurav sir is literally like a friend to you and so are all the other faculties. One of the things I love the most about them is how accessible they are to reach out for doubts. We had Facebook groups where regular questions were posted all throughout our journey to give practice every single day and make us better and better. I really liked that because so many students could discuss and study together and solve each other’s doubts instead of relying just on the faculties.Â
At the end of our preparation phase there was also a booster course and it raised all our confidence so much. There were also important questions that were discussed at the end and tips and tricks on how to solve them more effectively and in less time. I gave the CAT in 2018 and I scored 99.63 percentile in my first attempt so I feel that I am qualified enough to talk about the coaching that helped me prepare and get that percentile that I worked so hard for.
I enrolled in IMS in the year 2018 for 6 months. I hadn’t prepared anything prior to that but I didn’t need to because IMS taught us like that only. We were taught everything from scratch and there were multiple classes for each topic in each section. Basically the quants and logical reasoning classes were held in the morning and the reading comprehension and verbal ability classes were held in the evenings so that made a really good balance between both and gave us plenty of time in between for either college or work or self preparation.Â
The student portal is one of the best out there with so many questions on each level of difficulty so that you can practice lots and lots of questions on each level of your preparation as you go higher and higher. They not only prepared me for the exam but also for GDPI and other processes and B-school selection after the exam.

If the coaching institute doesn’t have the confidence to even compensate in some way in case it fails to deliver then that just points out the lack of the quality of material and teaching offered.
This kind of thing can be seen in Edushastra who have this money back guarantee where if you don’t get the desired results you can get your money back. I enrolled in IMS Learning Resources. Although, my mode of study was mostly online, they made sure i lacked nowhere with the educational facility.
One of the best things about IMS is their student portal which is excellent. They’ve a plethora of practice questions ranging from easy to difficult and so many mock tests.
They also train you for non-CAT exams and GDPI with full force. So I’d say, IMS is one of the best options to go for.
