To put it bluntly, the two courses are completely different. Despite the fact that these courses have different employment scopes, they are both internationally recognized credentials.
The ACCA is the right choice for someone who is interested in accounting, auditing, tax consultancy, or bookkeeping.
CFA certification is recommended for those with an interest in investment banking, portfolio management, and equities research.
Now let us compare ACCA and CFA in terms of scope –
If we discuss its scope, the ACCA course can help you in expanding your employment options – create your own business, join a consulting firm, or pursue a master’s in accounting. The main advantage of being an ACCA affiliate or member is the ability to work as an accountant not only in India but in more than 180 other nations. Reputable companies are also operating out of India, including those from the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, and others. The ACCA certification is equivalent to the CA certification in India. An ACCA member or fully certified ACCA can earn an average income of between INR 6 and INR 8 LPA.
Now let’s discuss CFA. A decent pay package and core finance profile are the main benefits that CFA provides after the course is finished. The annual compensation will be between 6- 8 LPA on an average for a CFA. This course certification has a well-known reputation in India since it is widely accepted in a variety of fields, including financial strategy, private banking, research analysis, portfolio management, and others. This wide range of job opportunities for people ensures its potential for growth in India.
Overall, I believe that both courses are preferable in terms of scope. If a person is interested in both, they can choose the combination (ACCA + CFA) but it won’t be of use. Choose the one where your interest lies.
