I will discuss the overall cost of pursuing a CFA from beginning to end in this answer. To make things easier for you to understand, I’ll split it up into chunks.
It is evident that one would seek assistance from a coaching for CFA preparation; therefore, I’ll also include that expense.
First, I’ll discuss the CFA Institute’s costs and what they entail.
Because CFA Institute is situated in the US, all payments must be made in US dollars, and you must have a credit card that supports international transactions.
What are the Fees?
To begin with, you must register for the CFA, which costs $350. This is a one-time payment that you must make; to convert to INR, it is equivalent to Rs. 29,000.
As you register, you are eligible to take the CFA test for a total of 10 years, as this validity period is 10 years.
Let’s talk about the exam fees now. You must pay the exam fees each time you take the exam; thus, if you take Level 1, you must pay exam fees, and if you take Level 2 or Level 3, you must pay exam fees.
Let’s say someone fails level 1 and wants to retake the exam; in that case, he must again pay the fees.
Getting to the cost of pursuing a CFA
There is an early and standard deadline for level 1. If you pay before the early deadline, you must pay $900, i.e., INR 73,000, for level 1, 2 & 3 each.
You must pay $1200, i.e., INR 98,000, if you pay after the early deadline has passed.
Thus, It will cost you approximately $3050 to $3950 in total, or approximately 3 lakhs.
This is what the CFA Institute Fees will cost you. When it comes to coaching classe, each one has a different pricing structure. I had taken classes for Level 1 and Level 2 at the Quintedge, so I could tell you about them.
Altogether, the cost of pursuing a CFA is approximately Rs. 3 lakh to 3.5 lakh.
I hope this will help you!
