Yet, for this reason, there is a diploma or foundation level, in which a student covers all the basics of accounting and learns the fundamental level of understanding of what ACCA is all about.

    How well you study and work hard for a particular paper depends on how well you do. ACCA papers are hard to pass, but it is not impossible. If you have a study time table and use your time wisely, then you can pass the paper on your first try. 

    However, it is not as easy as it looks. You will need to study in depth and try out all the questions from both the revision kits and do plenty of mocks before the exam. If you have done so then you will definitely clear the paper in the first attempt.

    Being a proud CA (Rank Holder), MBA (Silver Medallist), CIMA (Level 3, Global 4th rank in P3), DU Alumni (Silver Medallist in college) and having taught ACCA and CIMA for more than a decade now, I have to make an honest confession, despite being a proud CA with 2 decades of working experience with the best of brands, there is no exam as difficult as CA.

    ACCA is not a difficult exam to clear provided the following elements are taken care of –

    1. Learn with and from faculties who not only have strong conceptual knowledge but rich and diverse practical experience in the field of finance and accounting.
    2. Plan your subject preparation and timing of the exam well
    3. When you reach professional level, choose the right subjects from the options of the elective subjects keeping in mind – difficulty level of the subject, passing percentage, interest, career options and job openings.
    4. Be disciplined and regular with studies. ONLY last-minute preparation (like we all used to do during graduation) will definitely NOT help students in clearing their exams
    5. Practice, practice and more practice. Always remember there was, is and will never be any short cut.
    6. Don’t just focus on clearing the exam but securing a Global, Indian rank
    7. Attend live lectures (online or offline does not really matter), be regular, ask questions and participate in class discussions.  Relying ONLY on recorded lectures, material is definitely not a food and / or recommended strategy to clear ACCA exams.

    The Fundamental level consists of basic information, while the other levels contain papers that require more knowledge. You may be wondering how you can clear the ACCA exams. Two popular learning providers are BPP and Kaplan. Each one offers exam kits which can be very helpful in achieving a passing grade.
