It keeps increasing as they get more experience. The annual salary for a CFA with eight years of experience is around Rs. 30 lakh. The average yearly income for a CFA fresher is Rs.6 lakh, but it may go up to more than Rs. 15 lakh because the salary depends on a number of factors, including the company you work for, your position there, and your skills.

My friend’s average monthly income as a hedge fund manager with a Level 3 CFA certification is Rs. 125,000 per month.

The salary is based on the level which you have cleared.  For instance, someone who passes the level 1 exam can work in a corporation as an accountant, fund analyst, or junior research analyst and earn up to 35,000 per month. Additionally, the pay varies depending on where you work; for instance, the usual CFA level 1 salary in Mumbai is between Rs. 40,000 and Rs. 45,000 per month.

A Level 2 pass candidate who works in the field of wealth management and analytics can earn a decent salary of about Rs. 6 lakh per year.

A new universe of possibilities opens up after passing level 3 and becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst. In large corporations, you can work as a risk manager, portfolio manager, analyst of market research, investment strategist, or forex analyst. In India, the starting salary for a CFA may be around 10 lakhs per year, which is a good wage for these positions.

One of the most well-known degrees in finance is the CFA, which has three levels of exams. All investment professionals today must complete the Chartered Financial Analyst course to demonstrate their expertise in the industry.

As a result, depending on a variety of criteria, like your educational background, your professional experience, the recruiter, and your skills (Like Excel, Financial Modeling), all these factors will determine your compensation. Therefore, fresher CFA holders’ salaries might range from Rs. 6 lakh to 20 lakh rupees annually.

In order for you to understand it easily, I will bifurcate the average CFA salary into several levels.

    1. Your average salary will be between 4 and 5.4 LPA if you are a level 1 candidate.
    2. Your average salary as a level 2 candidate will be Rs. 6 LPA.
    3. Your average salary will most probably be more than Rs. 10 lakh a year if you pass all three levels.

    Hope it helps.

With respect to investment in terms of money, the total cost of doing CFA could be around Rs.3.5 lacs which includes exam fees, study material, training fees, registration fees, etc. So, if you can invest that much time and money then only go for CFA.

My friend received a job offer with a salary of Rs. 5 lakh after passing the CFA Level 1 exam. With his experience, his salary will surely increase.

Note:  In any career, there is no maximum salary.

I completed my MBA in finance from Pune, and afterward, I opted to further my study. So, I made the decision to enroll in CFA. My decision to pursue the CFA was a wise one because it not only enhanced my Resume but also enabled me to get a decent paying job. I am currently employed as an Associate with Evalueserve with a monthly salary of Rs. 80,000 after passing all three CFA levels.

P.S.  Having a CFA alone won’t help you get a high pay package; you also need to focus on developing a penchant for finance-related matters and staying current with all recent advancements in the industry.

    Best of Luck !!

Candidates who complete the CFA program are qualified to work in the core finance industry. Candidates can work in India as well as countries like the US, UK, UAE, etc. because it is a widely recognized course. You can work in a range of job profiles in the finance industry after earning your CFA. Investment banking and Equity Research are two of the most popular careers chosen by CFA charter holders.

The beginning remuneration for a CFA is often between INR 6 and 8 LPA. If you have the required portfolio management and wealth management experience, you might work as a hedge fund manager and make INR 15 LPA.

I hope this answer clears up any confusion.
