For the CFA Level 1 Exam, here are a few quick ideas from my end which you should take-

    1. Start with the Quantitative Books (Quants), which incorporate the time value of money and serve as the foundation for your other calculation-based books.
    2. Solve the Kaplan Schweser post-chapter questions. For the exam, you should read the Schweser Books twice.
    3. Finish the Practice Manual that Kaplan has provided at the very end of the preparation period.
    4. Solve as many questions as you can.

If your background is in engineering, you should pay particular attention to FRA, ethics, and economics because they will be new to you.

    Thank You!

An extensive CFA curriculum, consisting of ten subjects with a mix of practical and theoretical components, will undoubtedly test your patience and perseverance. The entire curriculum, which is extensive, cannot be readily or practically memorized.

Thus, practice is essential to pass CFA level 1. Practice often and repeatedly. Revise the syllabus atleast 2 times and take help of the question banks by top prep providrs such as Analystprep or Quintedge.

Nothing else can be a better recommendation.

Hi guys, I have some useful tips to give CFA aspirants, these are as follows –

    1. Spend roughly 300 hours getting ready for the exam.
    2. Pay attention to end-of-chapter Questions.
    3. Take practice exams and do discussions about the doubts with your fellow aspirants.
    4. Invest your time wisely because it is one of the largest purchase you will make in the career. Students with weak subject backgrounds require more preparation time than those with strong backgrounds.
    5. Use at least one online test series, such as Wiley, Quintedge, Analyst Prep, Scheweser, etc. to monitor your progress.

    All the best.

Sometimes, CFA level 1 might be challenging. There are claims that level 1 is the easiest of the three and that anyone can pass it with ease. But those who use these words are already knowledgeable about finance or hold a degree of the same caliber.

Let me tell you that Level 1 requires practice with questions and conceptual clarity. The types of questions that will appear on the tests are always unpredictable.

Therefore, bear the following in mind:

    • Complete all the mock exams that are available on the CFA institute website.
    • Review the questions on the CFA website because they show you the type of format the questions on the exam will have.
    • The first and most crucial thing is to strive to get proficient with the financial calculator and its function keys. Doing so will significantly reduce the amount of time needed to complete the questions.

I have personally encountered instances where I have used the calculator to perform method-wise calculations while the individual sitting next to me has not.  If you don’t know how to use the financial calculator effectively, I would advise against going any further.

Yes, there are several pointers that CFA aspirants should remember. Here is what I would suggest:

Pay attention to what the CFA Institute says about preparation time: There are ten topics, each of which is a separate field. It’s possible that after finishing just the financial reporting and analysis sections, you’ll forget everything a month later. Keep a 300-hour minimum study objective in mind, especially if you haven’t taken a finance or accounting subject in college.

I wish someone had told me not to skip any subjects when I was taking Level 1 exams. While you might study at the last minute, skip a few subjects, and pass, this will only hurt you in the long term because Level 1 establishes the foundation for everything that follows. This was my fault. I did not study properly derivatives, fixed income, or economics. I somehow made it. But avoid doing this. Because of this ignorance, I am finding level 2 of CFA to be incredibly tough.

    Other advice would be:

    • Take at least three to four practise tests
    • Instead of simply memorizing the ideas, try to understand them.
    • Don’t practise the Schweser concept checkers
    • Never undervalue ethics.

The CFA level one exam, which will determine the course of your CFA career, is a crucial, difficult, and terribly underappreciated exam. Please treat it with respect.

    Thank You!

Before starting your preparation for CFA you should keep some points in your mind that will surely help to clear the exam. First and foremost, you should have a strategy because passing the CFA exam depends on having a well-defined study plan. Take into account the following actions to begin:

    1. To begin, decide what you want to learn, taking into account both your personal and professional commitments.
    2. Create a study plan and schedule based on your goals and the amount of time you have available.
    3. Assess your academic strengths and limitations, and make time for the subjects that are more difficult for you.
    4. Lastly, keep your study time safe by establishing boundaries with anybody or anything that interferes with your ability to achieve your ultimate goal of passing the CFA Exam.
    5. Finally, put your health first.

Although passing the CFA Exam is important, your chances of success are significantly decreased if you are not in good health or taking care of yourself while studying. Make time for exercise, breaks, socializing with loved ones, drinking lots of water, and nourishing your body with nutritious foods.

Stop for a little while if you start to feel that life is just one long study session with no break in sight. Taking breaks for your mental health will help you stay calm during the process.

    All the best!
