There can’t be a straightforward answer to this query. Still, the following will be helpful to you in taking the right decision between ACCA and MBA:
ACCA qualification is offered by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK and you can do it from anywhere in the world with same examination and recognition. ACCA has presence in around 180 countries and you can study, do a job or give exams from anywhere.
However, in case of an MBA, we can’t say that it has got the same recognition and value irrespective of the Institution from which you do it. The worth of MBA really depends from which Institution you are planning to do or have done. You can’t compare MBA from Tier 1 Business Schools (e.g. IIM Ahmadabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Calcutta, FMS Delhi, MDI Gurugram etc. in India) with that of an MBA from Tier 2 or Tier 3 Business Schools in India.
The above is also evident from the fact that average salary packages of a fresher ACCA and an MBA from a Tier 1 business school normally remains in the same range i.e. Rs. 8-10 Lacs p.a. Same goes for in-depth knowledge and experiential learning in both the programs i.e. ACCA and MBA from a Tier 1 Business School as both are application oriented and primarily case-study based approach is followed to evaluate students. Therefore, we can compare ACCA with MBA from a Tier 1 Business School in India/abroad and we will find that both are having almost equal value.
However, we can’t compare ACCA with MBA from a Tier 2 or 3 Business School anywhere in the world as that comparison will not be of an apple to apple.
I hope the above answers your query.
